We want our greeting cards to express your encouragement to those who need it.
Haikus for Healing is our way of helping you help someone whose life has been touched by some catastrophic event. A diagnosis of cancer, neurological disease, mental illness or eating disorder in the family. The ordeal of chemotherapy. Miscarriage. Loss of a child through SIDS. An accident that will require months of recovery. Any difficulty for which a few well-chosen words can mean so much. Our cards use haikus, a form of Japanese verse in 17 syllables, to express your concern and support.
Haikus for Healing is a joint venture of an Atlanta writer and designer/photographer with more than 25 years of experience in advertising and marketing communications.
Georgia Dzurica, Writer
Georgia is the principal of WORDz, a company specializing in writing for marketing communications. She works with agencies, marketing companies, film producers, big corporations and small companies to write print ads; brochures and other collateral; scripts for broadcast, video, film and multimedia; sales promotional materials; direct marketing; web content and Internet marketing.
She’s worked for accounts that run the gamut from small companies to giants including Eastman Kodak, Xerox, Coca-Cola, Kraft, DuPont and Procter & Gamble.
In addition, she’s a feature writer whose work has appeared in magazines that include House & Garden, Interior Design, Art & Antiques, Veranda, American Way, US Airways and Architectural Digest/France.
Jame A. Riley, Designer and Photograper
Jame is the principal of Riley Design Works, which provides design solutions, art direction and creative direction for interactive, print or presentations in corporate branding, telecommunications, industrial training, pharmaceuticals and engineering.
Specialties are information design, interface development and web development; multimedia; publications and magazines; production and typesetting; print brokering; exhibits and trade shows; collateral; and corporate identity.
Clients include Coca-Cola, Gutter Helmet, NASA, Nortel, Cingular, Pfizer, Glaxo-Welcome and BellSouth/AT&T.
In addition, as editor and publisher of Unnameable Press Books, a specialty publisher of dark fantasy and horror, for 20 years, he’s been honored with awards for original anthologies in the science fiction and fantasy genres.
